PR Requests and Putting Your Book On The Map

With the relative ease of self publishing, more leading entrepreneurs are writing books – a great way to declare leadership and increase exposure and revenue for your company.  The question is:  How do you sell your book?  The old way is to hire an agency.   The new way is to partner with a promoter that understands the scope and scale of social media.  I will give you one of many great examples.

Rory Freedman, bestselling author of Skinny Bitch, which advocates for a vegetarian diet. The book was doing so-so saleswise until Victoria Beckham walked into a store, trailed by a camera crew, and picked up a copy.  The photo of Beckham and the book was transmitted around the world, and sales of Skinny Bitch skyrocketed.  How can you do something like that for your book?

Send a copy to celebrities who might be moved by its message and purpose, and ask them to take a photo holding or reading the book.  Most will likely decline, but if even just one says yes, you’ll have a picture worth a thousand words sales.  In future EA symposiums we will be discussing how your company can increase total sales with new marketing channels in publishing books, producing documentaries, hosting satellite/internet radio shows and participating in our new business world.  I love the old saying that we all have a little Mark Twain in us.  New saying – In a 24×7 social media world,  all of our companies need some Steven Spielberg in them.  You can start by being published in articles below -  this is free valuable media.  Please do not limit yourself to what your company does – follow your passion and hobbies.
